Sunday, July 26, 2015 - Good colour, blueberry and black cherry fruit, no lack of ripeness, but there is an element present of sweet-and-sour and the palate is a bit bitter and drying; the slightly acrid finish has the metallic note that is customary for this grape variety and some back-end heat from the 14% ABV. Decent as a red Mosel, not too bad as a Dornfelder, but the word pedestrian does come to mind. No elegance.
