1995 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut

Saturday, April 25, 2015 - better than I remembered and that last bottle was amazing. Structured but mature with serious mineral balanced with acidity. Lemon bars in liquid form with amazing tiny bubbles and mousse. The yeasty autolytic pastry at the bottom of a great lemon bar with a light toasting. Really very impressive and multi layered maybe better than the 1996, which sounds impossible but it caresses the he mouth from beginning to end and slides down the throat as good as any aged Cristal.

5/3/2015 7:24:00 PM - Having been at the tsting I find htis rating relative to the Marniquet interesting. Wish I could have a replay and work through both wines with you in detail!

5/5/2015 1:37:00 AM - I love getting two or three glasses with different champagnes and following them through the course of the night. It, for me is the best way to rate a champagne. On the second night, I was able to do just this with the Krug and the 2 DP, side by side, and I ended up missing out on some other wines but I followed these well over 3 hours. I do wish I had the martinet present. That champagne got better and better with each swirl and passing hour.
