Thursday, January 9, 2014 - Bordeaux matters, along with Burgundy and Champagne and Port and ... (Ripple Restaurant in Washington D.C.): This was easily one of my favorite wines of the evening. Perhaps I want to promote the fine producers of Sauternes/Barsac. In any case, an easy job to do with this wine. And what a wine. A cornucopia of fruits, from orange rind, grapefruit, and red apple cinnamon. The mid palate is lime pie/custard - opulent - with a lingering finish that beckons more drink. My goodness, Climens 1988. I am glad I own one bottle of this, and will seek out more.
