Saturday, March 23, 2013 - The wine pours a rusty purplish color. There are medium legs that cling onto the glass. What a captivating nose! The wine smells of chocolate, prunes, a lot of fruit (classic Saint Julien), truffles, tobacco and aged leather. Restrained but great concentration for sure despite the age. Great layering on the palate with velvety structures. Much fruit and acidity come to the fore before drying smokiness round things out. Tannins are definitely there though already integrated. Drinking very well now.
