Thursday, May 25, 2006 - Brown/red color with a definate clearing on the rim (5/5). Complex aromas leap from the glass. Dried fruit, coffe, soy sauce, japanese pickled plums, mustard, dried herbs and orange peel (13/15). On the palate the wine is a little tired and obviously past it's peak in maturity, but it still manages to maintain a full body feel with silky tannins and a glyrin character. Flavors of dried fruit, pickled plum, coffee, blood, ketchup and herbs. (15/20) Overall a very nice aged Hermitage drinking slightly past it's peak (9/10). 92 pts
