2005 Château Lynch-Bages

Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, December 29, 2015 - Tasted blind.
Nose was oaky with a penetrating stalky scent that made me think the wine was not well made. Fruit was fresh, deep, concentrated but severe and monolithic.
One the palate it was painful to drink, tight, tannic and raw.
When I saw the label I realised there was no fault to the wine, it just needed another 15 years of cellaring...
Difficult to assess it now.

12/29/2015 11:00:00 PM - Thanks for your note. Yes, it may be the age. We enjoyed a bottle over a few months via Coravin. We plan to try another bottle next year.
