Big cassis nose with quite a whack of toasty oak and polished cedar wood. Good concentration of fruit on the attack, which is surprisingly soft and round. EDIT : After a couple of hours in decanter this really hasn't budged. The quality is there but you get the impression it's just woken up from a long refreshing nap and is still a bit grumpy. Perhaps a little more spice becoming evident and a certain edgy minerality. It can be enjoyed now but really it needs another couple of years to bring those tannins in. Now (if you have a few)-2020? 90+
