Monday, February 23, 2015 - The meme for this wine is "tight and light." It is as if you have a winemaker with Grand Cru ambition (lots of tannic structure) working on a budget with Cru Bourgeois grapes (relatively thin, austere fruit). For all its rave review from the wine press during the early barrel tastings, one would have been happier if this wine were sweeter, more up-front and accessible. As it is, I am prone to think the fruit (fading blackberry and black cherry) will disappear long before the tannins.
