Saturday, April 13, 2013 - Drank at Alvins with Gisondis and Sables. Light to medium garnett color, very pretty fragrant nose of ripe cherries, maybe some roses, and white pepper. On the palate, fairly lightly concentrated but nicely balanced with very pretty red fruit, perhaps some leather, decent level of acidity, and some complexity. No remaining tannins to speak of. The wine was a very pleasant surprise as I had expected it to be at least half-dead. Quite the contrary, showing no age visibly or on the palate, and drinking wonderfully, if a bit light bodied. A crowd pleaser.
