Wednesday, August 19, 2015 - This takes about 2h to open up properly but then a complex nose of spices, leather, chocolate, figs turns up. Smooth tannins, leather, tobacco, earth and the fruit somewhat in the background. Dry, but not austere. Some heat on the mid palate and finish (on opening which then fades away). On balance I might sound negative but this is really a lovely wine with a long persistent finish. Good drinking now but will keep. 92-93p
