Saturday, April 16, 2011 - Took a chance and opened two bottles at a dinner party. Bottles aired for a an hour and a half before drinking. Surprisingly ready for pleasure. Great balance and finish. Tannins more muted (a good thing) then you would expect for an 05. Some nice secondary characteristics coming out, which balance nicely with smooth chewy black raspberry flavors. And it improved nicely through the evening as well. A classic Beaune. I'll dig into my case again in a couple of yearsfor another taste. . If you own a few of these you'll be happy to try one. If you only own one or two, you should wait.
