Thursday, June 18, 2015 - Winebid purchase. High shoulder fill. Cork saturated nearly to the top - came out in one piece, though.
Color: Rather pretty ruby garnet with just a hint of browning.
Nose: Initially very funky. With air, hay, green beans, earth, dried flowers, faint spice and tea.
Palate: Just barely alive. Some fruit, very mature. No tannins, but with a semblance of length and balance - fading as I write this... This should have been drunk 20 years ago.
A curiosity at best. My second bottle of this and consistent with the first. Interestingly, not nearly as good as the regular bottling of the '71, which I recently drank.
