1987 Robert Mondavi Winery Pinot Noir

Wednesday, November 26, 2014 - The color is stronger than the 1982 I had last night, a light but quite healthy tawny brick red. The wine very slightly hazy, this is an early work on doing unfiltered wine. The nose is all Pinot and very intense, in the mouth the acid is adequate but the tannin is very soften and the linger is all Pinot flavors and acid. Overall a lovely wine. FYI The ullage at opening was 1/2" below the cork, cork was completely sound. The bottle has been in my cellar since it left the winery 25 years ago.
