Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - Lovely, mature, wine. Not obviously Pinot Noir at this juncture. My guess was southern Rhone but from a fine appellation like CDP. Notes of fig, cooked red fruits, cedar and leather. Lots of energy and vibrancy left. Tannins are resolved but this could go longer in a good cellar. Great balance. Very satisfying. Color is a surprisingly full garnet red. Excellent winemaking and a pure pleasure to drink. Continues to evolve after more than an hour.
