Wednesday, February 12, 2014 - Southern Rhone Tasting - Cepages Tasting Group (Lincoln on Lincoln Square, NYC): Finished our Cepages lunch/tasting with this beauty that I dragged up from the cellar. Drank blind, but Al pinned it out immediately as a QdC. Awesome rich golden color, Extremely assertive nose of quince, honey and pears. Gobs of honey, pears, & some oak, minerals and a nice nuttiness. Still plenty of acidity here making this still quite a youthful wine--seems it can go on forever. Hard to believe this is a 25-year old wine! Medium to full bodied, round with great mouth feel, great balance and complexity. Not very sweet, more of a demo-sec. A delicious wine and great way to end a great tasting.
