Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - Deep red color. Aromas of blueberries, mocha, licorice and wood spices. Ripe, beautifully structured, complex fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and a long, sweet finish. Very integrated, suave and persistent on the palate. This bottle has been in my cellar for over 15 years and was still very fresh and showing no signs of fatigue. Though having lost the baby fat of its youth, this beautifully balanced and elegant wine was still richly extracted and quietly powerful. This outstanding 17 year old Aussie Shiraz was the WOTN and delicious with the compelling food at Laurel Restaurant.
