Saturday, December 25, 2010 - Not sure what this tasted like on release, so I can not criticize the critics, but still there is really no excuse. This is a big wine with lots of dark fruits, plum, blackberry and prune. Though no bang in the mid palate or finish. This was a good shiraz, let me re-phrase that, this was a good shiraz if it was $20, but not worth more.JHMO. Being a shiraz fan I have had my share over the years and this did not impress for what the hype/score suggested.
On this night the $22 dollar '06 Kurtz Boundary row shiraz beats the $69 dollar Amon Ra fairly handedly.
