Saturday, May 19, 2012 - A dark garnet color; still purple on the rim. I get awesome and complex aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, anise seed, hints of basil, graphite, spice and toasty vanillin. Refined, rich and elegant in the mouth. Soft and velvety; a medium viscosity. A smooth and velvety finish that is extended, with a subdued warmth that lasts a while in the gullet. Pairs fairly good with lamb, but I appreciate the wine more by itself. Well stored at 56 degrees. Sumptuous stuff for me.
