The fruit is huge, and this is indeed a very fine wine, but I'm not sure it's quite as complex as it is made out to be. The 1997 Drouhin Clos de la Roche I had early this year seemed, for example, to have a richer set of aromas. This seemed a bit more single-dimensioned, but much more powerful. It also seems to be a young wine, in need of a few years to settle. All in all, this was a delicious wine.
