95 Points

Wednesday, July 8, 2015 - Tasted blind, wine #3. Young and fresh bouquet along with cassis, blackberry, vanilla, sweet toasty oak, licorice. Amazingly still primary on the nose.
Good weighty palate, exhibits rich cassis fruits, subtle tobacco and earth. Expressive and youthful palate with good structure. It has seamless balance and finesse that really impressed. Long persistent finish with sweet licorice aftertaste and fine chewy tannins. Very good and young taste like a 90s with good acidity backbone. My WoTN and it holds better than the 1985 Château Gruaud Larose tasted alongside. Ex-Chateau stock could be the reason as it assures the provenance. Hope my own bottle can be equally good.
