Monday, July 10, 2006 - Served blind on Jim's patio in the semi-darkness. Not exactly your Monday night special. Dark color but who could tell? Silky smooth texture. Deep rich blackberry fruit that sat like a fat smiling Buddha on the tip of my tongue. I really wasn't sure but I guessed that it was an elegant, high end Shiraz. I had no expectation that it could be Grange at 9:00 on a Monday night, so I subconsciously dumbed it down when I guessed. On depth of refined fruit and elegance alone it merited this score, though it seemed still young and probably likely to develop significantly more with bottle age.
