Thursday, June 11, 2009 - Worryingly oaky nose, not much else. The palate is definitely showing a little too much oak (though restrained compared to wood juice from California), but there's a zesty acidity that's keeping it from taking over completely. Creamy texture, with a medium+ body. Hot finish on the throat from the relatively high alcohol. A good amount of lemon, but also some fairly ripe flavors - banana, mango, pineapple, apple pie. Toasty oak, with vanilla and mint (!) on the back palate. Lots of concentration and depth. Decent QPR for $18 on closeout for $15.
