Thursday, February 21, 2008 - From a Bordeaux tasting at BBR. Only a quick sketchy note taken at the time. Circa €160 per bottle. For me this was the wine of the tasting, narrowly beating off the 1995 Leoville Barton and the 1994 Trotanoy (the other wines tasted were the 2004 Villa Bel Air Blanc, the 2001 Berry's Own St Estephe (Phelan-Segur), the 2001 du Tertre, the 1997 Magdelaine, and a 2002 Berry's Own Sauternes (Suduiraut)). Decanted 1 hour. Distinctive Lynch Bages Pauillac nose of cassis (always juicy yet dry!) and graphite shavings. Excellent balance on the palate, great length. Super.
