90 Points

Sunday, October 17, 2010 - Consumed with lamb shank drizzled with plum sauce, potatoes and green beans. This wine had a very sweet smell when first opened. The first taste made me glad we opened it 2.5 hours before the party. The tannins dominated the dark fruit when first tasted. However, you could taste the plum and fresh blackberry behind the tannins. We split the magnum into a decanter and it really took off with the first taste with dinner. Every glass just kept getting better. While I doubt I will ever see this wine in this vintage again, it would certainly be worth getting again.
