Friday, July 3, 2009 - Presented in double-blind fashion to our tasting group. Opaque ruby. Moderately intense nose of blackberries, kirsch and earth. Full-bodied on the palate, with good acidity to balance the big ripe tannins. The flavors are similar to the nose. The oak is a bit heavy-handed but not overwhelming. Long, fairly smooth finish. Drink now-12/15.
