Monday, March 4, 2013 - At Recettte in NYC with Ray and CVA . Great meal, great staff and one of the few in NYC that are corkage friendly. Ray was very generous to bring this from his cellar.
Stunning wine, opened for about an hour before we drank it. Nose had smoke, bacon, mushrooms, truffles..very complex and rich. One the palate, still drinks like a very young wine. Jammy black fruits, spicy, earth, leather. Would characterize this as a robust wine - paired with Recette's Pork Belly (a winner!)
Finish was 30 seconds+, black cherry, licorice, herbs. This is beautiful now but will have a long life ahead of it.
