1996 Château Gruaud Larose

Community Tasting Note

Saturday, March 3, 2012 - Fresh nose of menthol and blueberry, then a strong hint of plums. Very impressive first mouthful, full of Victoria plums, which is unusual for GL, moving into black cherry and a touch of spice, with a finish marked by blueberries. Delicious, GL at its best. I don't think it'll improve much, but there's no need. At least ten years to go, the underlying power will see it out. Best GL since the 90, probably better than that one too. No brett whatsoever.
