Wednesday, November 19, 2014 - Not enought time with the wine to rate.
Nose is quite heavy and musty and for me it feels dominated by very ripe Grenache aromas. Bay leaves, ripe plums, sweet cherries, olives and slight funk. Not a lot of brett or wood. Very ripe on the palate with round tannins, heavy warm alcohol but with a good intensity and length. It's not how I expect Beaucastel to taste, but an interesting and high quality wine still.

Cinsault : 5%
Counoise : 10%
Grenache noir : 30%
Mourvèdre : 30%
Syrah : 10%
Vaccarèse, Terret Noir, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardan, Bourboulenc, Roussanne : 15%
