Monday, September 7, 2015 - From a perfect looking bottle, this wine had a light red center and orange/tan rims. The nose was reduced at first and showed some ethyl acetate. amazingly enough, after a couple hours of air it actually got better. It showed black cherries, Cuban cigar, brown spices, and some ethyl acetate.

In the mouth, this wine was light bodied with a surprisingly attractive texture, light tannin, solid acidity, and decent length. The weight and texture was like an old Burgundy, even though the flavor profile was clearly new world. What was shocking is how much better this wine became after 5+ hours of air despite its age and light color.

While this wine was clear well past its best, it was fun to drink. Given that this bottle was basically perfect, I would advise drinking or selling anything you have in stock.
