Friday, February 12, 2016 - Agree with the drinking window. This wine although it is approachable now has a long life ahead of it. Having had many examples of Gaudichots, I am always amazed at how well Gaudichots (and La Tache) ages. I would not open another bottle until this wine is 15+ years old.

Surprisingly this bottle was stunningly elegant which is a result of the 2002 vintage because I typically find Gaudichots to be an imposing wine- robust and burley in its youth.

In short, there is a harmony in this wine that imparts stunning elegance even in its adolescence. Everything is perfectly in place. Can't wait to enjoy the next 4 bottles over the next 15 years. As Meadows says, "Class in the glass."
