Wednesday, May 16, 2012 - Lopez de Heredia Vertical, with Maria Jose Lopez de Heredia (The Sampler, South Ken, London): Wow. Wine is as fresh and alive as a 10yr old wine. Ok the colour gives the age away but on the palate it is vibrant, has good fruit and a lot of length. The smoky sweet core so typical of Rioja is still there. Not sure it justifies the 500£ price tag and we would be careful on bottle variation with old riojas but tonight this was singing. 93-4
