Thursday, January 14, 2016 - Dreaded opening as I feared the cork would disintegrate. It didn't. Very narrow cork but held up well, no infiltration, cork stained deep purple, almost black. The wine is absolutely ready now. Fruit apparent from first sip, and no alcohol detected. Faded somewhat quickly so a short finish. Not a fruit club over the head yet very pleasant and wonderfully developed by the age now of 13 years. Secondary and tertiary flavors present but couldn't tell you if leather, tobacco, or forest. somehow a bit of each. Some fading at the rim of glass which showed the aging. Fruit did become more prominent with more air. Think this should be consumed now but if you have ideal conditions the wine may go about 5 more years, but I don't see any improvement from where it is now. Recommended.
