Thursday, July 14, 2011 - Decanted for 2 hours prior to drinking at my 40th, Balzac, December 2010. Level high shoulder; cork in very good condition. Colour deep, clear crimson/garnet with slight browning at the edges. Wonderful nose of cinnamon, christmas cake, plums and blackberries. Palate to match: lush and inviting - beautiful black fruit, prunes, and raisins with a touch of earthiness. The finest and silkiest tannins I can imagine tying the whole package together. Huge and long finish. For me, WOTN.
