Monday, August 31, 2015 - OK, so it's starting to fade. When I get to that age, I'll probably be starting to fade as well. But that did not detract from the complex aromas, with its molasses, brown sugar, earth, cherry blossom and cigar box scents. Soft, silky, elegant and polished, it's time to drink up as this delicate beauty is only going to continue slowly dropping fruit from here.

8/31/2015 2:48:00 PM - Very interesting commentary, I had bought two bottle a long time ago, drank the first at the birth of my first child (1976 and my wife was obviously in the hospital so I drank the whole bottle by myself ) and my old notes show a lot of the same thought with regard to the palate, I can remember the flavors of cherry blossoms and cigar boxes, not so much the molasses. Elegant and polished this wine was then. Along with the 61 Mouton and the 70 Petrus it was definitely one of the greatest bottles I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. If cellartracker had existed back then I would have given it a rating of 104. I will be mindful of your advise but may hold my last bottle for another year or so.

You're lucky to have a bottle in your cellar. I wish I had a bottle... Fortunately, on that night, I had a very good friend.
