Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - After having a delicious and mature '00, I decided to pull an '05 to see what all the fuss is about!! (as per colleagues). The aromatics are gorgeous. The mourvedre takes the spotlight on the aromatics. Nice and heady with cherry bubble gum-like tones. Kirsch, firm tannins, light earth, and some spice show on the palate. As this opens, the aromatics are more intense and the palate starts to soften a bit. I think this will evolve in to a beauty. 88+
