1982 Château Lynch-Bages

Community Tasting Note

95 Points

Friday, March 12, 2010 - Dinner with Chris & Ann ('82 Lynch-Bages, '83 Raymond-Lafon) (Ann's House): Color:A brilliant ruby red with limited signs of bricking at the rim.

Smell: Earth, saddle leather, graphite, cedar, red fruit, and a slightly dusty smokiness.

Taste: A melange of red fruits, earth, black currant, and a faint hint of clove that seamlessly intertwined with one another along a 45+ second finish that made it difficult to restrain from taking another sip.

Overall: This was in a wonderful spot, and despite the saturated cork performed far beyond my expectations. The tannins while present were well integrated and soft now. There was a harmony in this wine that seemed to reach out and grab everyone at the table.
