1982 Château Lynch-Bages

Community Tasting Note

92 Points

Monday, April 16, 2012 - A little denser in colour than the 1985, otherwise similar in appearance; complex animal aromas and opulent fruit here, spice, very well defined raspberry and cassis alongside cedar and tobacco. Very, very lovely; glorious mouthfeel again, though not quite the density of the 1990 or the opulence of the 1985. In fact, I'd controversially suggest this may be starting its decline, showing some drying notes and drier fruits. Quite sweet, a little stewed in character. Fine, certainly good but the lesser of the trio.
