Friday, October 17, 2014 - 2014 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): Souced from vines in the heart of the Côte Blonde with an average vine age of 90 years, this deep ruby/red wine (89% Syrah, 11% Viognier) impresses from the get-go. Intensely aromatic, it offers dark plum, Asian spices, fig, pipe tobacco and briar notes which carry through to the palate. Medium-bodied and with a nice acid backbone, it wraps the flavors with medium-weight, silky tannins. The wine's oak and alcohol are tightly integrated and the middle palate is solid. Perhaps its strongest attribute is its finish, which seams to last forever. Absolutely stunning! Drink now-2030.
