1979 Trimbach Riesling Clos Ste. Hune

Community Tasting Note

Saturday, March 22, 2008 - Initially rather off and disjointed - some cider and petrol. Better and better with time. Wonderfully complex and pure, particularly on the nose. Hardcore mineral and citrus, but first and foremost patrician and restrained. A slightly chalky feel to the palate. Superior to a wonderful 1973 Hune a year or so back. As another taster mentioned, typical CSH in that it's more intellectual than hedonistic. Just delicious.
