Tuesday, May 7, 2013 - Very different wine from the bland sweet juice of 5 yrs ago. Turning almost viscous, the wine is becoming more like a young port in consistency. This wine has a strong black raspberry core, with plenty of jammy sweetness offset by a wild forest aromas -- reminds me of a raspberry liquor filling in a dark chocolate bar. Needless to say, it goes really well with chocolate. Not even a hint of rust in the color. About half evolved in it's long life -- the tertiary flavors are just becoming pronounced. Drinkable now, but should gain in complexity in another 5 yrs or longer.
