Saturday, May 2, 2015 - 1997 Clos Pegase Merlot reminds me of the right bank. If served blind, I’m not sure if I would have guessed California. It is quite aromatic and certainly not too oaky with lingering tones of cedar, blackberries, cassis, and leather.
Its level of balsamic note suggests that this needs no further aging. I wouldn’t want that level to get any higher.
