Saturday, March 5, 2011 - Saturday Tasting Group (Knightsbridge Wine Shop (Northbrook, IL)): Still some life showing on the palate in this oldie.
Murky, cloudy tawny color. Reductive leather, soy and black tea notes on the nose.
This was showing lots of age, but I agree that you wouldn't think it was from '49.
Rustic raspberries, unique and a little cheesy on the back end of the nose and palate.
Caramel. A nice opportunity to sample this nicely aged Bordeaux.
