Sunday, January 18, 2015 - Over December 2014, I tasted all of the main house NVs and the Pol 'White Foil' was about my favourite (but, then, it is a favourite house). No disgorgement date. Drunk from Montrachet glass to emphasise the bouquet (at the cost of bubbles). Pale gold colour. Despite the glass, good, persistent bead. A very pure and fresh citric nose, with aromas of pears, baked apples, vanilla pod, flint, cinnamon and a dash of ground nutmeg. Restrained baking spices and a limited leesy, autolysis element. In the mouth, precise, persistent, with flavours of crisp citrus, yellow apples and pears. Below medium weight. Quite long with a dry, mineral finish. Thirds Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.
