92 Points

Saturday, March 3, 2012 - The dutchman turns 30; 3/2/2012-3/3/2012 (Chicago IL): nose: plush and forward nose filled with ripe tones of cherries, oak, blueberries, spice tones and dark red fruits. While there is a forwardness and ripeness to the nose, it is fairly balanced and not on the extracted side.

taste: Full bodied with chewy tannins. Ripe but balanced with plump tones of dark red fruits, oak, red cherries, and some bits of fresh picked berries. Very good depth with the oak being relatively in check.

overall: this was wine #2. The forward quality didn't bother me too much as there was balance to the wine.
