Monday, September 6, 2004 - After reading this may be closing down, I decided to open a bottle this evening to see how it is doing. I decanted for 1 1/2 hours then returned it to the bottle for another hour. Initially, lots of horsy funk, dark fruit and herbs on the nose. When consumed with dinner, the horsy note had left. The fruit was in the background, garrigue, leather, earth predominated. I don’t think it was closed, it has just has moved a lot of the primary fruit to the side. Paired wonderfully with grilled, as opposed to BBQ'd, venison tenderloin. For those monitoring corks, it was a TL cork saturated about 50%.
