Full bodied in Rioja terms, deep black cherry fruit and earth atop the usual woody base, but little in the way of resiny oak flavors to interfere with the substantial fruit. To be honest, at age 19, this is dense and fairly simple. Excellent material, clearly enough to stand up to the cooperage, but I don't think it will develop any more ethereal secondary qualities for another 15 years.
