Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - Decanted 1 hour. Beautiful dark purple in color, all the way to the edges. Nose of blueberry fruit, smoke and earth. On first sip, I get lots of blue and black berry fruit flavors, with very slight tannins that are nicely integrated with the fruit and acidity. The finish is long, and redolent of smoke, blackberries and a floral component. Always one of my favorite wines, I would imagine this would benefit from additional cellar time.
