Tuesday, February 21, 2012 - Double-decanted for sediment. The wine began to open up a bit more after 45 minutes, but not noticeably different. Cloudy (probably could have used a stand-up for a day or two), but at a near-plateau maturity. I agree with pifcho's note that the wine is more Tuscan than syrah; notes of bramble, red berry, cherry and loam aromas. It was a bit "one note" but still a very pleasant note. Great value.
