2006 Château Léoville Poyferré

Community Tasting Note

90 Points

Monday, January 21, 2013 - A solid effort, but nothing too exciting. Some nice dark cherries hidden within the stony mineral and cedar core after a little time in the glass. The nose was a bit muted. Perhaps this will emerge more with some time in the cellar. The tannins were plump but not overwhelming, and the wine had nice acidity. A fairly approachable younger Bordeaux that should improve over the next 5 to 10 years.
