Wednesday, February 18, 2015 - Tasted from half bottles (375ml) during a blind tasting with my sister and brother-in-law.
An extremely cloudy wine that is showing its age with distinctive bricking. In short, A sweet nose of cassis and an even sweeter taste of currants. Whilst I wanted to love this wine (and my sister/brother in law did) I just could not like it. I found it quite sickly and over bearing.
I genuinely do worry that if the wine from this chateau was served in a bottle with a different label, it would receive low marks, but the internal desire for us to all love this wine because of the story behind it could sway our perception.

You may find it attractive to drink the clear liquid, instead of the muddled one. Decanting for a few hours can also remove some of the more "difficult" aromas that could also be refered to as 'acquired taste'.
However, I do agree with you that Musar's 2000 is far from their best effort. Hope you enjoy their stronger efforts better!
Enjoy!
